Belper Games

I had such a fabulous time photographing the 4th Anuual Belper Games on Saturday.  The event started in 2012 as a small, half-day event and has grown every year thanks to the support of the Belper community. All proceeds from the games, held in memory of Belper's Penny Wheeler, are donated to The Scleroderma Society, Ataxia UK and The Pulmonary Fibrosis Trust.

As you can see from the pictures, it's an 'It's a Knockout' type event, but what you can't see is the scale of it!  About twenty four teams, each with about ten members and all determined to raise the trophy at the end. It was great fun to watch, especially once I decided (as most photographers eventually do) that it's 'easier to ask forgiveness than permission' and went and sat in the middle of the arena on some inflatables from where I got some much better shots!

So, lots of foam, lots of water and lots of strange costumes and war paint.  Lots to photograph.  You can see the full gallery here!
